This was one of my favorite songs as a kid! I recently saw Madonna had done her own version, and this inspired me to give it a shot. I grew up listening to Patty Pravo and have so many memories of singing in my room to this tune. For those who don't speak Italian, Patty's song is about feeling objectified and controlled in a relationship. La Bambola means The Doll. She is being treated as if she were a toy. But the song shifts into empowerment and taking action in her own life and decisions, ultimately saying "NO!" to the lover who is abusing her.
